How do I replace fat with healthy nutrients when I have correct BMI?
Q. I'll be 21 this 28th and my height is 5'4" . I weigh 60kgs which is right according to my height. But the problem is I have a lot of fat in my belly and thighs and I want to reduce it. How do I reduce the fat and still maintain the correct BMI ? I want to look better by this birthday. Any tips please?

A. Start exercising and cut out how much sodas you drink. If you drink sodas, don't drink diet, there wost for your health they reg. Start eating healthy foods, and not so much sweats. That is not to say that you can't ever eat sweats os drink sodas, just don't have a lot of it. These are some things that will help you get started, but don't go crazy with it either. Good luck, and don't worry what others think you look like. It should only matter how you think you look like.

How high does your bmi need to be to get your period?
Q. I used to get my period, but now i don't anymore. Do i need to gain weight to get it again? I'm 13, 92 pounds and 5'0. My bmi is 18.0. What should i weigh to be able to get it?

A. my bmi is 17.8 and i sometimes get mine... if you have started less than two years ago then your periods will still be irregular.

What do people think of the BMI calculation?
Q. I've just done mine, I'm 23.91. 25 is considered overweight. There is not a snowball's chance in a hell that I'm overweight. How can this calculator be considered a legitimate way of telling someone if their weight is healthy when it does not take into consideration the build or the age of the person? I've got quite a 'big' build, but nothing abnormal - approx. 34/28/36. How can a measurement like that be borderline overweight? Plus, my boyfriend is borderline OBESE! He's very muscular, he's 14stone but only 5ft 8. He is carrying an extra stone or two, but nothing major. What are other people's experiences with the BMI? A. The problem with BMI is that it only takes into account height and weight, not body composition (ie. body fat vs. lean mass). I never calculate my clients' BMI for that reason. It isn't important. Professional athletes, with very little bodyfat and a large amount of muscle mass, can register as obese when looking at BMI. Obviously that is flawed. What is important is what your bodyfat percentage is. Two people who both weigh 200 lbs will look dramatically different if one has a bodyfat % of 35% and the other has a bodyfat % of 10%.
